Today Wednesday, February 4th, 2026, the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) is pleased to report that crews have completed the repairs started yesterday on a ruptured main at Mount Friendship in St. Michael.

The repair proved extremely difficult and the team worked through the night to complete the work. However, although repairs are complete and the water has been turned back on, one of the connected reservoirs ran empty and the system now has to recharge.

As a result an increased number of customers in several St. Michael and Christ Church districts are today affected by water outages.

This includes residents in:

St. Michael

Regent Hill, The Pine, Clapham, Observatory Road, Bonnetts, Flagstaff, School Road, Wildey, Wildey Main Rd, East Terrace Wildey, 2nd Ave East Terrace, Thomas Gap, Parkinson Field, Bottom Close Wildey, Harper’s Land, Forde’s Road, Highgate Gardens, Upper Collymore Rock, Sargeants Village, and surrounding districts.

Christ Church

Adams Castle, Sheraton, Vauxhall, Amity Lodge, Rendezvous Ridge, The Gymnasium, Upton, Upton Apartments, Kent, Southridge, St. David’s and surrounding areas.

The Authority’s tanker fleet will assist persons in the affected areas as a temporary measure until the facility is back online and pumping at full capacity.

The BWA apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this service disruption. (ENDS)
