The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) would like to inform residents and businesses in parts of St. Joseph and St. Andrew that the installation of new water mains at Cattlewash has been completed. We are now in the process of pressure testing the water main, and this phase is 50% complete.

After testing, the mains will be flushed, filled, and sanitized. A water sample will then be taken and tested to ensure it is safe for use. This process is expected to be completed by Friday. Once the bacteriological tests yield negative results, the mains will be put into service.

The road has been reopened to through traffic, but please note that this area remains an active worksite. Motorists are reminded to exercise caution when travelling through the zone.

Affected areas may experience low water pressure and outages. However, water tanker crews will continue to assist the residents and businesses as a temporary measure. Persons are reminded that they can call 434-4292 for assistance.

The Barbados Water Authority appreciates its valued customers for their patience and understanding as our teams continue to work to resolve this issue.    (ENDS)
