The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) is today, Tuesday, August 27th, updating residents and businesses in parts of St James, St Peter and St. Lucy serviced by the Rock Hall North Distribution System.

Regrettably, the operational crews encountered difficulties yesterday due to inclement weather and inadequate lighting. Due to the rugged and treacherous terrain in certain areas, accessibility to the damaged section of the water main was not feasible. As of today, efforts have recommenced to rectify the issue impacting the water supply to the distribution system. However, repair work will be slow as safety has to be maintained as well.

Customers and businesses in Four Hill, Four Hill Development, French Village, Indian Ground, Roebuck, Diamond Corner, Welch Town, Moore Hill, Castle, Boscobelle Terrace, Gays Tenantry and the immediate surrounding areas may continue to be impacted by low-pressure and water outages.

The Authority is diligently working to promptly reinstate regular service to the areas. Tankers will continue to provide aid to affected residents while the issue is being addressed. Subsequent updates will be provided as necessary.

Customers are reminded that they can report any issues to the Authority via 434-4292.

The BWA apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks its valued customers for their continued patience and understanding.    (ENDS)
