The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) wishes to update residents and businesses in parts of St. Joseph and St. Andrew that installation of the new water mains in Cattlewash is complete. The pipes are now to be flushed, pressure tested and sanitized. The BWA is working to have this done by Wednesday, May 7th. The water sample then has to be sent to the Laboratory for testing and this is also planned for Wednesday, May 7th. Once the test has been passed, the main will be made live.

The road has been reopened to thru’ traffic but the zone is still an active work site, so motorists are reminded to traverse the area with caution.

Water tanker crews will continue to assist the affected residents and businesses as a temporary measure. Persons are reminded that they can call 434-4292 for assistance.

The Barbados Water Authority appreciates its valued customers for their patience and understanding as our teams continue work to resolve this issue.    (ENDS)
