The Barbados Water Authority advises residents and businesses in parts of St. Joseph and St. Andrew that work to replace the mains along the Cattlewash section of the Ermie Bourne Highway is still underway. The teams continue to work during the day and night and the actual laying of the mains is nearing completion. This will be followed by testing of the new lines.
Motorists are reminded that this section of road is temporarily closed to thru’ traffic to allow crews to work safely at a faster rate and it is advisable to use alternate routes. Only buses, emergency vehicles and residents requiring local access will be permitted to traverse this road while the repairs are underway.
Water tanker crews will continue to assist the affected residents and businesses in the interim. Persons are reminded that they can call 434-4292 for assistance.
