Today, Saturday, November 18th, the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) advises that after completing repairs and resuming operations at its pumping station in St. Michael, another leak has appeared on the large-diameter main at the facility.
Unfortunately, this will require the Authority to stop pumping from that station to allow crews to conduct the required repairs. Those repairs are expected to resume later this evening.
The Authority is therefore advising residents in the affected areas who have a pipe-borne supply once again, to store some water to assist while the repairs continue.
These may include persons located in St. Michael and Christ Church districts stretching from Codrington junction in St. Michael to Carter’s Gap in Christ Church and Collymore Rock in St. Michael, Vauxhall in Christ Church and the Fort George and Sheraton areas.
Tankers will continue to service these customers but there may be delays due to heavy demand.
The BWA apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks its customers for their understanding and patience. Updates will be provided on the progress of the repairs. (ENDS)
