Today Tuesday, April 29th, the Barbados Water Authority advises residents and businesses in parts of St. Joseph and St. Andrew that it has adjusted the strategy being undertaken to resolve the repair of the ruptured main in the Cattlewash area.
Crews have been working tirelessly since yesterday, Monday to locate the source of the burst and their efforts have still not yet yielded fruit. Therefore, the Authority has decided to replace a number of lengths of main along the stretch and bypass the problem area altogether. This process is expected to take five (5) to seven (7) days.
The team is currently in the process of clearing the location and mobilising the crews needed to expedite the work. Customers in the affected districts will continue to be impacted by water outages or low pressure until the matter is resolved.
Water tanker crews will continue to assist residents and businesses in the interim.
The Barbados Water Authority apologises for the inconvenience and thanks its valued customers for their patience and understanding as the team works to resolve this issue. (ENDS)
