The Barbados Water Authority wishes to update the public that repair work on a 15-inch main at Pine North-South Road in St. Michael is still in progress tonight Saturday, June 24th.

The repair crew encountered delays due to challenges with replacement of sections of this very old main.

The road remains closed between Pine Plantation Road and the junction with the traffic lights while crews work to complete the repair.

However, as a result of the extended period of time that this work is taking to complete, water levels at the connected reservoir are now low and customers along Highway 7 from Bay Street to Oistins and surrounding areas MAY tonight join those in Bayville, Chelsea Road, Dayrell’s Road and surrounding districts and start to experience low pressure or outages.

Personnel are working to make adjustments to the distribution network to minimise the number of affected areas.

The Authority’s tanker crews will continue to assist persons in the affected areas while the crews on site in the Pine work assiduously to complete the job as soon as possible.

The Authority apologises for the inconvenience and thanks all affected customers for their understanding and patience.    (ENDS)
