Ionics Freshwater Limited has informed the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) that it will be carrying out scheduled maintenance at the Desalination Plant on the Mighty Grynner Highway from Monday, January 26th until Thursday, January 29th 2026.
During this time, the Authority will make adjustments to its distribution network to help reduce the number of areas impacted. However, residents in parts of St. James, St. Thomas and St. Peter may experience low water pressure or outages on the stated days.
St. James
Appleby, Derricks, Fitts Village, Holetown, Jamestown Park, Mount Standfast, Paynes Bay, Porters, Prospect, Sunset Crest, Trents, Sandy Lane, Lower Mount Standfast, Storehouse Gap, The Garden, Weston, Lower Crick Hill, Lower Carlton, Prior Park, Warrens Terrace, Warrens, Warrens Park South, Clermont, Clearview Heights, Husbands, Meadowvale Heights, Crystal Heights, Hoyte’s Village, Seaview, Halcyon Heights, Sunset Ridge, Lancaster, Orange Hill, Apes Hill, Greenwich and surrounding districts.
St. Thomas
Arch Hall, Bibby’s Lane, Cane Garden, Jackson, Jackson Terrace, Edgehill, Melrose, Arthur Seat, Welches Heights, Redman’s Village, Bagatelle Park, Bagatelle Gardens and surrounding areas.
St. Peter
Gibbs, Mullins, Road View, Battaleys, Farm Road, Heywoods Park, Speightstown and surrounding districts.
As a precaution, customers in the listed areas are encouraged to store an adequate supply of water to assist during the period. The BWA’s water tankers will also be dispatched as a temporary measure where necessary.
