The Government of Barbados (GOB), through the Barbados Water Authority (BWA), is currently implementing a project to install a potable water supply and sewage disposal systems within the areas of Bailey’s Alley, St. George, Belle Tenantry & the Belle, St. Michael.
Acting CEO Christopher Mapp, informs “that the BWA is now, for the first time, providing access to potable water for residents of these areas. The project is currently at the stage where the Authority has commenced work installing the water network within the neighbourhoods.”
Following the mains installation, the verified homeowners will then be required to ensure that the requisite pipework has been installed within their properties to facilitate connection to the mains & visit the Authority’s Customer Service Centre in the Pine to apply for a water service to their home.
The residents are being given the opportunity to legitimately apply for a water service with the BWA at a reduced rate specially negotiated by the GOB on their behalf.
The Barbados Water Authority will work with all residents to ensure that the necessary work is done to allow for the water and sewage connections to be completed in a timely manner. (ENDS)
