The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) advises today, June 20th that it is has been forced to stop pumping from its Bowmanston station because of low reservoir levels being experienced at the facility.

As a result, customers in some St. John districts may be impacted by low water pressure or outages tonight into tomorrow Tuesday, June 21st.

The affected areas may include Ashbury in St. George as well as

  • Carters
  • Cherry Grove
  • Cheshire
  • Church View
  • Cliff Cottage
  • Clifton Hall
  • Coach Hill
  • Colleton
  • Colleton Gardens
  • Eastmont
  • Four Roads
  • Gall Hill
  • Glebe
  • Guinea Land
  • Haynes Hill
  • Henley
  • Lemon Arbor
  • Macaroni Village
  • Martins Bay
  • Massiah Street
  • Moores Land
  • Newcastle
  • Pool Land
  • Pothouse
  • Rosegate
  • Sargeant Street
  • Sherbourne
  • Small Hope
  • Society
  • Spooner’s
  • Stewart Hill
  • Todds Tenantry
  • Wakefield Tenantry
  • Welch Village
  • Zores Land

and surrounding areas in St. John.

The Authority will make every effort to help residents in these districts via tanker while the problem persists.

Investigations into the source of the problem will continue on Tuesday, June 21st and customers will be updated on the findings.
