Ionics Freshwater Ltd. has advised the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) that it has today Wednesday, July 3, 2024 sustained a burst on a 16-inch line leaving the Plant. As a result, emergency repairs will be conducted at the Desalination Plant on the Mighty Grynner Highway starting today.

This work is expected to only affect a part of the Plant’s operations and the BWA has made adjustments to its distribution network to assist customers in the connected systems.

Persons may not feel the effects of the repairs right away but are being advised, in advance, to store some water to assist within their households. Residents in the following areas may eventually experience low water pressure or a water outage as a result of the ongoing work.
