Ionics Freshwater Ltd. has advised the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) today Thursday, September 19, 2024 that the Desalination Plant on the Mighty Grynner Highway is currently offline due to electrical power issues as a result of last night’s inclement weather.
This is expected to affect residents in the following areas with low water pressure or a water outage as a result.
Persons may not feel the effects right away but are being advised, in advance, to store some water to assist within their households.

Customers are advised that the Authority will also make every effort to help residents of the affected districts via tanker until the Plant has resumed full operation and water systems are replenished.
