The Barbados Water Authority (BWA), in collaboration with the European Union through its Caribbean Cooperation Facility, and implementer the Foundation for the Internationalization of Public Administrations (FIAP), wishes to advise residents and businesses of the commencement of a structured survey as part of the 3R-CReWS Project (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle – for Climate Resilience Wastewater Systems) being executed by the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC).

In the upcoming weeks, trained enumerators will be visiting communities and businesses along the proposed nine-kilometre reclaimed water pipeline route. This route extends from the Bridgetown Sewage Treatment Plant (BSTP) to Lears, St. Michael. Our Enumerators will be easily recognizable as they will be wearing the known BWA uniform and carrying official BWA identification badges displaying their name and photograph.

The purpose of the survey is to collect feedback on the risk assessment process and assess public awareness of the planned installation of this reclaimed water pipeline. This project forms part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to enhance water sustainability and climate resilience in Barbados.

These locations include:

  • Chapman Lane
  • Kensington New Road
  • Rock Gap
  • Baxters Road
  • Passage Road
  • Lower Bank Hall Main Road
  • Hothersal Turning along Highway 3

The BWA and its partners encourage all those approached to participate in this important initiative. Your input is valuable as we work together to build a more water-secure future for Barbados.

The Barbados Water Authority thanks you for your cooperation. (ENDS)
