The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) informs residents and businesses in parts of St. Thomas that today Wednesday, October 15th, 2025 crews are working in Rugby putting emergency measures in place to avoid damage to an exposed main in the area. This work is preliminary and further urgent work will be required in the near future after a full investigation of the situation.
As a result, residents of Hopewell Main Road, Hopewell Development, Bridgefield, Bridgefield Development, Cane Garden, Cane Garden Heights up to the Magistrate’s Court and the immediate surrounding districts may experience low water pressure or outages.
Customers in these areas who still have a pipe-borne supply are advised to store some water to help while this work is being conducted. Water tankers will be available to assist. Motorists are advised to exercise caution when traversing the area.
