The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) in a recent initiative is embarking on completing the establishment of District Metered Areas (DMAs) as a critical part of its Non-Revenue Water (NRW) reduction strategy by the end of 2023.
This task will involve
  • the installation of metering points in the distribution system,
  • determining the losses in the defined areas
  • setting a baseline by quantifying the water losses for each DMA.
It is expected that this will benefit the entire population of Barbados as it is the intention to install DMA’s island wide and further work to reduce Non-Revenue Water.
