BARBADOS WATER AUTHORITY

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

The island has been warned of the approach of Tropical Storm Elsa. The Barbados Water Authority advises at this time that persons store an adequate supply of potable water for yourself, your family and your pets.

The recommended amount is five (5) gallons per person per day for at least five (5) days.  Water should be stored in clean, covered containers.

Remember, that in addition to storing water, it is always useful to have disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer accessible to help keep you and your surroundings sanitary.

Persons connected to the sewer networks are reminded to keep their properties clear of debris and prevent loose material and FOGS from entering the sewer lines as these can cause blockages and flooding on your properties.

The Authority urges all persons to be prepared and stay safe during the passage of Tropical Storm Elsa.

A reminder from the Barbados Water Authority.    (ENDS)
