The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) is today, Sunday, July 20th, advising residents and businesses in parts of St. Michael, St. George and Christ Church that it has sustained a burst on a large-diameter main at one of its facilities in St. Michael.

Affected areas may include some St. Michael, St. George and Christ Church districts. stretching from Codrington junction in St. Michael to Carter’s Gap in Christ Church including all of Bridgetown and Collymore Rock in St. Michael, Vauxhall in Christ Church, the Fort George and Sheraton areas as well as Salters and surrounding districts in St. George.

 Persons are not expected to be affected right away but are advised to store some water to assist while repairs are being conducted.

Water tankers will also be dispatched to assist residents and businesses in the affected districts as a temporary measure. However, there may be delays due to heavy demand.

The Barbados Water Authority apologises for any inconvenience this service disruption as a result of a rupture on a large-diameter main may cause.    (ENDS)
