The Barbados Water Authority informs that late last night Wednesday, May 18th crews completed repairs to a burst on an 8-inch main in Proute Gully, St. Thomas. The water supply was then restored to the affected areas.
This burst was one of two leaks discovered on the main and crews will today Thursday, May 19th mobilize to repair the second during the day.
When work restarts for the team to conduct repairs, residents in Bridgefield, Grandview, Content, Shop Hill, Edgehill Heights, White Hall and surrounding districts may be impacted by low pressure or a water outage.
Customers in these areas are advised to store some water to assist.
The Authority’s tanker crews will continue to help the residents via tanker in the interim.
Inspection of the entire main by the Authority’s NRW team is slated to continue and customers will be updated on the progress of the work.
The BWA apologizes for the inconvenience this service disruption may cause.
