Today Thursday, August 20th, 2026 the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) advises residents in some parts of St. Andrew, St. Thomas and St. Joseph that it has suffered another rupture on the same large-diameter main in the Golden Ridge area.

The Authority will again need to reduce pumping from its facility in St. George to conduct emergency repairs.

Crews have been mobilised to effect repairs and as a result, customers in following districts may continue to be affected by water outages or low pressure:

In St. Andrew:

Turner’s Hall, Gregg Farm, Apes Hill, Church Gap, Hillaby, White Hill, Bruce Vale and surrounding areas.

In St. Thomas:

Hillaby, Farmers, Airy Cot, Upper Canefield, Cane Garden, Friendship, Dunscombe, Spring Farm, Porey Spring, Content Tenantry, Chapman Village, Bloomsbury, Carrington Village, Lower Canefield, Sturges, Welchman Hall, Highland, Lion Castle, Endeavour, Clifton Hill, Walkes Spring, Clifton Tenantry, Strong Hope and surrounding districts.

In St. Joseph:

Baxters, Dark Hole, Coconut Grove, Bissex, Mellows, Parks, Melvin’s Hill, Fruitful Hill, Spa Hill, St. Bernard’s Village, Chimborazo, Sugar Hill, Braggs Hill, Lammings, Airy Hill and surrounding areas.

The Authority will make every effort to assist the affected residents via tanker while the repairs are being conducted.
