The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) is today, Friday, November 21st advising residents and businesses in parts of St. Michael and Christ Church that it is currently conducting emergency repairs on a large diameter main in Villa Road, Brittons Hill, St. Michael.

As a result, customers stretching from the intersection of Bay Street & Jemmott’s Lane along Highway 7 to Carter’s Gap in Christ Church may be affected by a water outage or low pressure. These include Bayland, the Garrison, the Graydon Sealy School, Navy Gardens, St. Matthias, Marine Gardens, Eversley Road, Beales Gap, Reece Road, Hastings, Worthing, Rendezvous, Top Rock, Maxwell, Hythe Gardens, Oistins and the immediate surrounding areas.

Water tankers have been deployed to assist. There may be delays due to heavy demand so, customers in the stated areas who still have a pipe-borne supply, are asked to store some water to assist while repairs are being conducted.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and avoid using Villa Road in Brittons Hill if possible.

The Barbados Water Authority apologises for the inconvenience this emergency repair at Villa Road, Brittons Hill, St. Michael may cause.    (ENDS)
