The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) is today, Sunday, August 24th, advising residents of St. George and St. Thomas that a vehicular accident has damaged equipment at one of its facilities, causing a disruption in parts of the distribution system.
As a result, residents and businesses in the following areas may experience low water pressure or outages:
St. Thomas:
Proute, Cane Garden Heights, Content, Forty Acres, White Hill Tenantry, Vaucluse Tenantry, Shop Hill, Shop Hill Terrace and View, Christie Village, Dukes Tenantry, Applewhaites, Locust Hall.
St. George:
St. Helen’s, Belair, Roach Village, Paradise, Groves Tenantry, Bridge Cot Terrace, Bridge Cot, Cottage Grove, Cottage Terrace, Middleton, Newbury, Rowans Park East, Salisbury, Free Hill, Briggs Hill, Taitt Hill, Rock Hall.
The situation is currently under investigation, and water tankers will be dispatched in the interim to assist affected residents.
The Authority apologizes for the disruption in service and thanks residents for their patience and understanding as crews work to restore normal operations. (ENDS)
