The BWA advises today Friday, June 23rd, that as is procedure, crews are in the process of conducting damage assessment at its facilities across the island following the passage of Tropical Storm Bret.

Thus far, our teams in the field have discovered that there are pumping issues at a few stations supplying customers in some northern districts and some located in the higher elevations of Christ Church and St. Joseph.

At this time, residents in some parts of St. Lucy may be experiencing a water outage or low pressure. There may also be some persons in the Christ Church areas of Kingsland, Newton and surrounding districts, along with residents of Lammings, Chimborazo and surrounding areas in St. Joseph who may be without a pipe-borne supply.

The Authority is working to rectify the matter as soon as possible and updates will be provided on the situation.

BWA teams are currently mobilising to repair a suspected burst in Jemmotts, St. Lucy which may also be impacting the supply to customers in the neighbouring districts.

Tanker crews will assist customers in the affected areas as a temporary measure.    (ENDS)
