BWA Conducting Emergency Repairs to a 16-inch main at Cemetery Lane in St. James
BARBADOS WATER AUTHORITY
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Barbados Water Authority wishes to inform the public that emergency repair work is being carried out on a 16-inch main at Cemetery Lane, Sandy Lane in St. James today Monday, October 19.
Pumping from the Ionics Desalination Plant and the Stations at Trents and Apes Hill has been stopped temporarily to allow the repair work on this large-sized main to be completed. This stoppage has in turn caused the facility at Lancaster to suffer low levels and presently be functioning at a reduced capacity.
Customers in parts of St. Michael and St. James and districts connected to the abovementioned stations will experience low water pressure or outages while this emergency work is being conducted.
The Authority will make every effort to assist residents in the affected districts via tanker in the interim. Customers will be kept updated on the progress of the work.
Personnel are also today addressing reports of suspected bursts on small sized mains in the areas of Parish Land, Goodland Gardens and Thompson Gap, Lodge Road in Christ Church.
The BWA apologizes for the inconvenience these service disruptions have caused.
