Adjustments Being Made at Belle Pumping Station While Desalination Plant is Offline
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) wishes to inform the public that Ionics Freshwater Limited will carry out upgrades at its facility beginning on April 23, 2019. As a result, the plant will be offline, periodically, for a number of days.
Adjustments will be made at the Belle Pumping Station to make up the deficit while the Desalination Plant is offline, however, low water pressure or outages may still be experienced in the Shop Hill distribution network and some districts on the West Coast.
These areas may include:
In St. Thomas
Cane Garden, Arthur Seat, Welches Heights, Bagatelle Park, Bagatelle Gardens, Melrose, Redman’s Village, Edgehill, Welches Terrace, Padmore Village and the surrounding districts.
In St. James
Crystal Heights, Prior Park, Apes Hill, Lower Mount Standfast, The Garden, Weston and surrounding areas.
In St. Peter
Battaleys and surrounding districts.
Please note that in addition to the adjustments being made to supply the areas in the interim, the Authority will also dispatch its water tankers to assist.
The Barbados Water Authority apologises for any inconvenience to its valued customers. (ENDS)
