Pumping Resumes at Greens & Applewhaites Stations
BARBADOS WATER AUTHORITY
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) completed the emergency repair work on pumps at its Greens and Applewhaites Pumping Stations late yesterday evening, Monday.
While the progress of the work was hampered by the inclement weather, repairs were completed and the stations put back online last night.
Today Tuesday, the Authority is still experiencing low reservoir levels at its Shop Hill and Castle Grant facilities. These low levels have resulted in water outages to some St. Joseph areas including Horse Hill, Chimborazo, Melvins Hill, Fruitful Hill, Spa Hill, Bissex, Mellows Hill and surrounding districts.
The Authority will continue to assist customers in the affected areas via its community tanks and water tankers as a temporary measure.
The Barbados Water Authority sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience these outages may cause its valued customers.
