Electrical Issues Impacting some St. Lucy & St. Peter Areas

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Due to electrical issues being experienced by the Barbados Light & Power Company (BLPC), the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) is informing the public that it has been forced to stop pumping from the Alleynedale station today Thursday, October 3rd.
The Authority’s crews are working in conjunction with BLPC personnel to resolve these issues as soon as practicable.
The stoppage at this facility has in turn impacted levels at Half Acre and Lamberts. These three facilities together supply water to several districts in St. Peter and St. Lucy which may currently be suffering low pressure or water outages.
Meanwhile, residents of various St. Joseph, St. Andrew and St. Thomas districts are also today being affected by water outages because to low levels being experienced at Apes Hill and Golden Ridge Reservoirs.
BWA’s tanker crews will continue to assist affected customers as a temporary measure.
The Barbados Water Authority sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused to its valued customers.
